an anthology of translated stories about dhaka is being published this year by comma press in the uk and by bengal lights books in bangladesh.

the project is the culmination of a series of workshops organised by ulab's dhaka translation center in partnership with the british centre for literary translation, commonwealth writers and english pen writers in translation. recently a bangla-english literary translation workshop was held at the dtc premises in dhaka from 15-19 may with ten translators who are working on the anthology, the book of dhaka.

award- winning indian literary translator arunava sinha and founder and editorial manager of uk’s comma press ra page, led the sessions. during the sessions, participants who were each assigned short stories to translate, worked with sinha and page to edit their work. the aim of this second phase of dtc workshop was to improve post-translation critiquing and editing skills.
